What is the We Own It motion?

We've been asking communities across the province to show their commitment to quality public services by passing our "We Own It" motion.

Community leaders who pass our motion are promising to keep public services public unless there is clear evidence that privatization will improve quality and lower costs and clear public support for privatization.

In the event a privatization deal is proposed, the community leaders promise that the deal will not be signed before:

  • ALL financial and operational details of the privatization deal are made public.
  • The public is given the chance to have a meaningful say on the privatization deal.
