Dear Minister Jaczek,

I am a resident of Grey County concerned about the scheme to close and sell Grey Gables, the publicly owned and managed long-term care home in Markdale.

In public meetings, letters to the editor, and phone calls and emails to county councillors, thousands of area residents have said clearly that they oppose this scheme.

For one thing, it will force some families in South East Grey to travel up to three hours to visit their loved ones.

For another thing, the proponents of the scheme refuse to reveal many of its details. What are they hiding?

Minister, your predecessor is on the record saying: "I will not sign off on any of these proposals unless I truly believe that it is in the community's best interest."

This scheme is NOT in our community's best interest. I am counting on you to stop it.
